when the sky falls

Woke up feeling inspired today. Noticed how my blog lacked primary colours. My bedside table is flooded with the usual bobby tins, random pens, nail polish, book, lip stuff and so i spiced it up by rearranging it to make it pic-worthy. Anyone a fan of fisheye cameras? i'm hoping to get one soon ...

unsure which one of these shades of red will be on my tippy toes - shanghai, crimson, cardinal, vermillion or terra cotta.

she smelled of daisies

1. Sarah from Scotatto sent me a couple of her playful handmade products a few weeks ago! This deliciously adorable bacon-&-eggs pencil case is my favorite for it really makes my day. She is having a 30% storewide sale, so quick place your orders before the collection runs out ♡ Will also be holding an additional giveaway of a surprise collectable item of hers soon!

2. ( burned alive // under the radar // god is dead ( on apocalyptic occurrences and loss of hope if there ever was a situation where we had no God )   // the memory keeper's daughter // borrowed time // the distance between us // Candy )

These books brought words of wonder and its penetrating language has really opened my eyes to many things. Sometimes the covers are deceiving, but extraordinary, i must say.

version of the truth

1. one day those shop houses are going to be mine. One for my studio, another for my sister's cafe, and the last one for my shop!

2. Went to the charity Fashion Swap held by newly launched FashFix.sg last week! Brought along about 25 pieces in big brown boxes for donation, amongst the stash where denim skirts and leatherette shorts, chiffon tops, some basics and some vintage. I didn't stay for long, but i wish i had more time to meet the organizers and the other bloggers! Thanks Vivien for the invitation ---

3. sun & moon stock from TC, delivered weeks ago by owner jackie. Wearing a coral colored tank and Vinci stellar shorts that has been sold out ! It could be yours now, over at my shop

Today marks the day i've been blogging for one full year. i'm happy its taken me so far, from having sponsors to being ambassadors and participating and applying for various blog communities. The next few years i would have lesser time to post, but i cross my fingers praying that i can still contribute to this space. I truly appreciate all the praises and feedback from my friends and followers, thanks for supporting me !

Heres a snapshot of my collection of black heels, and vintage-style round frame sunglasses that was delivered to me by Phrenzy ( thank you lovelies ) for being one of their bloggers !

From left to right : Steve Madden Gretta platform replicas, Theysken's Theory ankle strap replica wedges, Dolce Vita joanna suede & leather replica clogs, Miu Miu swallow mary janes. I spent quite a sum on the Miu Miu pair a year back, and i wish i could get the authentic TT ankle strap wedges - i've been eying on them since forever! i will be selling bits of my collection up at my shop, so head down quick!

watch her moving in elliptical pattern

i've been struggling to update ever since i merged my accounts together, and couldn't access blogger. And then i figured it out and here i am  i've had a great morning, just looking at the rays of light pass through my curtains and onto my bed. Usually i wouldn't have bothered to snap some pictures, but today just felt different. Currently listening to Birdy's Skinny Love, 1901, and People Help The People which is my favourite. Theres something really spiritual about her music, and i thank Marissa for introducing her music to me.

one thing i love about saturdays is that its the only day i don't have to fold my bed. i find comfort in the mess and i can repeatedly go back into bed, read a book and drink tea, before the afternoon starts and i have to leave my home. hmm, now my song has ended and i'm writing whats in my mind. ♡

lights will guide you

i suddenly have an enormous craving for anything pink these few weeks. Zatchels.com caries such pretty satchels of many designs from animal prints to polka dots! Not to mention in colors like raspberry and all the colors of the rainbow. Unfortunately, its retails at £76 to £97 , depending on the sizes, but i've never spent so much on a bag that isn't vintage ! Its time to start saving again!

happy late easter to everyone out there who was egg-hunting yesterday! i didn't go out, as i was home studying for my mid-terms, but i wasn't deprived from chocolate either. My sweet tooth got the better of me and i ate both a solid chocolate rabbit yesterday and cadbury chocolate egg and pudding dip that were gifts to me. It made me giddy with happiness and i decided to spread the joy by buying caramel-filled chocolate eggs for my dearest classmates! i'd always wanted to dye easter eggs in all shades of pastels, decorate them for display, and look how delicate the ones in the photo above are ! Made with love by the very talented fellow blogger Jessica Enig of Such Pretty Things

my favorite item from Tokyolux so far ( other than their doughnut pullover i simply adore, you have to check it out ) , their hand-crafted flower crowns. i've seen many versions, but not one as fragile and teeny as this, and the thinner it is, the harder it is to make. i'm such a cheapskate i refuse to pay for this, so DIY here i come!

have a good night everyone!

for those unguided

well, its really early in the morning and started wondering, thinking, reflecting. i decided to give some advice, as part of a practice and reminder for myself as well as for all those whom i love,be it my readers or even my friends and family.

On Dieting
i know of alot of awful habits that my friends have, and one of which are dieting. At least 1/3 friends i have are getting involved in dieting tips that were taken from the internet, or worst, starving themselves. now, i'm not asking anyone to listen to me, but question yourselves. Don't you wish you had smaller tighs, slimmer waist and thin wrists? Most people do, but not taking proper care of your body is a different thing. Firstly, dieting tips from the internet are mostly unreliable, i recommend a proper nutrition consultation. i don't think anyone should be shy about this, because when you think you need help, you should always voice out. besides, there is nothing wrong at all if you want to improve your body. Even if you wanted to be really really skinny, always tell yourself that there would always be someone bigger sized, and someone smaller as well. If you were to compare day and night, it wouldn't do you any good, and it could drive you into depression. so some simple tricks i thought of were to : 1) keep a diet diary plan, to remind yourself to eat healthy. 2) exercise regularly. 3) don't check labels of food, it will only get you down. 4) stop idolizing skinny models and look up inspirational leaders like adele, katy perry or beyonce. 5) read newspapers for health tips or go for health talks.
i personally don't do any of what i mentioned above, as i feel comfortable with my body.i've never looked at food labels before, nor did i ever feel the urge to be stick-thin. i eat everything in moderation ( absolutely love french fries ), and i exercise when i like to. i think everyone should love their body, appreciate and be grateful for what you have been blessed with, instead of trying to change yourselves!

On Makeup
in my opinion, its perfectly fine to wear makeup. i don't use much makeup, only a minimal of lip products and nothing else. i feel that feeling fresh and natural, showing your face without any enhancing products is very important. for those who absolutely love makeup and can't leave the house without it, i don't encourage it, as i think you would have to learn to be comfortable and proud of how you look. as for makeup products, i see my mum and sister cake their faces with all sorts of things i don't even know the names to and i've just got two things to say : 1) don't buy cheap makeup, it might just eat into your face. invest in good products that have been tested and proven skin-friendly even though it will be pricer. 2) don't over do your makeup, and ask makeup counters for advice if you are unsure, for professionals never really go wrong!

On Dressing Well
lastly, i don't think anyone to dress to impress.just be you, just feel comfortable.inspiration can be part of your outfits, but beware never to "copy" a style of another blogger/stylist/fashion icon.Theres nothing worst than imitating, as it shows zero personality and creativity! Don't be worried that people wouldn't like the way you dress, because if you try hard enough to bring your style all out, you would always have supporters.i even have problems adjusting to this mindset, but i am still working on it and i can say i've progressed since a year ago! :)

ps. sorry for the tremendously long post that is right bellow! i just had to mention some of the concerns that i held in for a long time! GOOD MORNING

baby blues

credits to Emily

well, its a tuesday night, doing my research, home alone, with no good food at all. Emilie Griottes' tarts makes my tummy rumble with such delight at the sight of this amazing creations and at the same time lots of disappointment knowing that i'd be surviving on snickers bars and oily food for the rest of my school-packed week. i'd always wanted to get those pantone colour pads! then maybe i could number off my clothes according to their tone and shades too!

credits to nastygal

i used to be a girl who said shoes weren't important, and now i can't live a week without checking solestruck or nastygal's new kicks. the colours makes my heart melt. the ones i am eyeing on are the Perfect Platform in Aqua Patent by Jeffrey campbell ( i love JC ! ) and Saffir Platform Pump in Blush by Senso.

ps. i have yet to purchase a pair of shoes from Senso, this might just be my chance!

put on a show

this pop-up style baking kit was something i wanted to get for myself but was too costly for just admiring the cover, because i simply don't have the time to bake! i'm not the kind of girl who likes cupcakes or muffins as i love pies more... so i thought maybe my lovely friend, zandra, would like it as her 16th birthday gift! i was considering the sewing kid version they have in stores and also online at fredflare, if i am correct, but oh, the price is still a B***h. i didn't mean to sound vulgar but there simply isn't another word i can think of that has the same meaning!

got some nail polish the other day!Coral is one of my fav colours and i guess it suits the heated weather in singapore, as pastels are bright and fun but not too glaring in the way neons make my eyes bleed. Whats better than to stay with the colour-code of this season ? i'm prepared to buy like 3 sets of this for different friends because everyone likes nail polish! i'd say stick with spring pastels Unless you want to be a trendsetter , but thats a whole different thing.

funny little book that i mentioned earlier which i got for only $2! i've digested nearly the whole book in 2 days and its been one of my luckiest picks at a book sale, considering other onlookers wanting to snatch away books the moment you look away or ones they claim they spotted it first. Nah, just kidding, nowadays people read ebooks, but i don't like them as i like doggyears, folds and marks on my books. i like to run my fingers across the creases at the book spine, the edges and the pages, and that way i'd know it belongs to me and only me.
well, i'd better get back to my yummy freddo cadbury chocolates that are in my ginger bread house tin before they melt to soup , my last 2 pages of my book and then put on a mask for the pleasure of feeling like a very spoilt pampered little girl. I don't do this everyday, i only do it when i like something cold on my face to calm my jumpiness and i don't like vegetables on my face so cucumbers are not an option.

adios! off at my friend's beach birthday get-together! xx
